17.51 - Or (be) other creature which is great in your chests. And they will say: Who will return us? Say: The One Who originated you the first time. Then they will shake their heads to you and say: When? Say: Perhaps it is near. 17.52 - The day when He will call you, and you will respond with His praise and think that you had not remained except for a little. 17.53 - And say to My servants to say that which is best. Indeed, the devil induces among them; indeed, the devil is ever to the human an obvious enemy. 17.54 - Your Lord is most Knowing of you; if He wills, He may grant you mercy, and if He wills, He may castigate you. And We have not sent you over them as a trustee. 17.55 - And your Lord is most Knowing whoever is in the heavens and the earth; and We have certainly favoured some of the prophets over others, and We have given Dawood the Psalms. 17.56 - Say: Call upon those whom you alleged other than Him, for they do not possess the removal of adversity or transferring (it). 17.57 - Those whom they call seek to their Lord means of access, (striving to) which would be nearest, and they hope for His mercy and fear His torture. Indeed, the torture of your Lord is ever to be avoided. 17.58 - And there is not a village except that We will destroy it before the day of resurrection or castigate it with a severe torture. That has ever been in the book written. 17.59 - And nothing could have stopped Us from sending signs except that the former (people) denied them. And We gave Thamud the she-camel as a visible (sign), but they did injustice to her. And We do not send the signs except as a threat. 17.60 - And when We said to you: Indeed, your Lord has encompassed the people. And We did not make the vision which We showed you except as a trial for the people, as was the cursed tree in the Quran. And We threaten them, but it does not increase them except in great transgression.
